We had a bit of a lie in before I headed to the balcony for coffee and to watch the wake of the ship. We were passing St Lucia, St Vincent, Martinique, and Dominica, and got a good view of them in the distance. We had an unwanted visitor out there in the shape of a big, very dead, beetle .
We did our usual morning routine of Epicurean breakfast, library, then open decks, before chilling on the balcony before it got too hot.
Ian decided to go for a run so I went to read in the Crows nest before having some lunch, then doing a music quiz in Spoons. I got what I thought was a quite respectable 27/42, but the couple whose sheet I was marking got 41/42!! And they tied for the win! I felt inadequate.
Ian came back all sweaty so showered and went for food himself. We popped down to the atrium for a coffee before doing the single person quiz. Ian beat me by one as I couldn’t remember where the 2016 olympics were held! But he did not take the overall crown.
Back in the suite we watched yet another spectacular Carribean sunset. I would say they are becoming boring, but they really aren’t.
It was St Patrick’s day, I had spotted a few of those annoying hats around the ship, so we both entered into the spirit. Me in my £6 dress and Ian in his £30 bow tie and hankie. To be honest there wasn’t a big Green turnout. It was also Black (or Green!) tie. Down in the Main dining room we played another game of will they/won’t they notice us. In a surprising left field move, the underwaiter struck up a conversation with Ian! It was a short one, but baby steps. After tea we had nightcap in the atrium while listening to the pianist.
By this time, after a strenuous day, it was time for bed. Thankfully, the Live Lounge was having a 70s night to lull us to sleep.
